Cathedral150 Appeal
To preserve and to develop our cathedral and its site for
future generations, a huge amount of work is required, which may cost up to £10m. More
information.
Comfort & Joy Homeless Appeal
We will again, this year, take part in this scheme
to support those who are homeless in our city by donating vouchers or gift cards for £5 or £10 from the
supermarkets. Please drop these in the purple buckets after Mass today.
Christmas Offering
By tradition, the collection taken at Christmas Masses is used
exclusively for our priests. Donations may also be made on the DONA machines and by following the QR code.
Theology on Tap
Join us for the launch of our new parish group on theological topics.
Our first lecture will be by Fr Thomas Hiney on Friday, 19 December from 18:30 to 19:30
in the Cathedral Hall.
Jack Ryan
Will be ordained deacon here at the cathedral on Saturday, 20
December at 15:00 by Bishop Philip. Jack will preach at all Sunday Masses here on the weekend
of 3/4 January.
Carols in the Hall
Please join us for carols in the hall after 12:00 Mass on
Sunday 21 December. There will be light refreshments. Funds raised will be allocated to the
Cathedral150 Appeal.
Jubilee Year of Hope
Will formally close in the diocese at the 10:00 Mass on
Sunday 28 December.
Invitation from the Bishop
Bishop Philip invites any single man in our diocese,
aged 17 or older, who would like to know more about diocesan priesthood, to come to a meeting at the
Cathedral on Sunday 4 Jan from 15:00 to 17:00. Please scan the QR code to register.
Patron for our Pastoral Area
The bishop will choose a patron for our Pastoral Area
(PA) from three proposed to him. The patron must be a title of God or Our Lady. The PA clergy plan in the
new year to propose the following three patrons: (1) Christ, the Light of the World; (2) Christ, the Bread
of Life and (3) Mary, Mother of the Church. Please do let the clergy or parish office know your thoughts.
Rosary Apostolate
A small statue of Our Lady of Fatima is hosted by a family for a
week with handover at the 12:00 Sunday Mass. If you would like to take part, please contact Honey Arnisto
0792 1956 658.
Poinsettias
As in past years, we invite parishioners to bring poinsettias to decorate
the church and the crib this Christmas. These can be tagged in memory of loved ones. Please bring these
plants up to Sunday 21 December.
