CLOSURE OF THE CATHEDRAL
Advance notice: the cathedral will be closed Mondays to Fridays from 11 August to   3 September to enable the removal of asbestos from the roof space. During this period, weekday Masses will be held in the hall, which will only be accessible from the car park entrance. The cathedral will be open as usual at the weekends.

Nigerian Parish Community

Will have a gathering today 26 July after the 10:00 Mass in the hall. All registered and new parishioners are welcome.

Monthly Enquirers’ Group

Monday 27 July at 18:30 in the CDC. For adults at the early stage of enquiring about the Catholic faith. Just turn up on the day!

Lectio Divina

Wed 29 July at 18:30 in the CDC. This is an open and friendly group, and new people are very welcome to join us.

Rest in Peace

Please pray for Mike Foley, who has died. His Requiem Mass will be on Friday 31 July at 11:00 in St Agatha’s Ordinariate Church.

First Saturday Devotion, 1 August
Starts at 10:30 with Adoration, Confession, Rosary, Meditation and Mass at 12:15. To make reparations to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

First Friday Devotions, 7 August
Starts at 16:30 with Evening Prayer and Benediction to offer reparations to the Blessed Sacrament and to honour the Sacred Heart.

Tabletop and Cake Sales
The final amount raised for Cathedral150 Appeal was £415.77. Thanks to Mary and her team for their work.

Vestments Exhibition
A total of £354.33 was raised for the Cathedral150 Appeal. A big thank you to Dave Yates and his team and to those who attended.

Summer Break
There will be no tea and coffee after 10:00 Mass on Sunday through the month of August. The Repository will also be closed from 17 August and re-opens on 2 September.

Legion of Mary
Is a Catholic lay association dedicated to apostolic work and devotion to Our Lady. If you are inspired to work and walk with the Blessed Virgin Mary, please join them. To find out more, come on Sunday 30 August after the 12:00 Mass in the CDC. Contact Chuma chuksnd777@yahoo.com.

Faith and Fun Group
For primary pupils in Years 3-6 is starting next term.  Belonging to the group will form part of children’s journey towards First Holy Communion……watch this space for more details.

Confirmation 2027 & Youth Group
If your child is currently in year 7 (aged 12) and would like to be confirmed they must attend the youth group on the first Friday of each month. rbrowne@portsmouthdiocese.org.uk.

Jam and Vegetable Sale
Sunday 16 August after all Masses. Pat and Mike Russell will be holding once again this yearly sale for the benefit of InSight. Cash payment only, please.

Archbishop Arjan Dodaj
A warm welcome to Archbishop Arjan of Tirana, Albania, joining us for two weeks to perfect his English! He loves engaging with new people so be sure to stop, say hello and chat with him whenever you see him around!

Noise during Mass
We have received complaints about the level of noise at Sunday Mass by children who are not babies. If your child is restless, especially in the hot weather, please consider taking them into the hall until they settle and ready to join at Mass again.

ChurchSuite
Is the name of our new parishioner database. GDPR rules means that it is necessary to register again using the QR code on the flyer which you can find at the exits. You can also register by making an appointment in the parish office.
