James will be with us in the parish until next Summer as he discerns his vocation to the priesthood.

SVP Retiring Collection
15/16 November to help those living locally in need. A member of the St Vincent de Paul Society will speak about their work at the end of all Masses.

In Remembrance
In November we pray especially for the faithful departed. Please write the names of friends and family members who have died on the Book of Remembrance by the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. They will be prayed throughout the month of November.

Mass for Deceased Parishioners
On Saturday 22 November at 12:15. The names of those parishioners who have died in the last year will be read out and a candle lit for them. Join us to remember and pray for the faithful departed of our parish. Please see the list of names in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. It would be appreciated if you could tell the families you know about this special Mass.

Young Adults Group (aged 18-30)
Thursday 27 November from 18:30 to 20:30 in the Hall. Meet new friends, unwind and deepen your spiritual journey.

Sung Vespers
The First Sunday of Advent 30 November at 16:00. All are welcome as we begin Advent.

Let your light shine – an All-Talents Event
Saturday 22 November at 14:00 in the Hall. Do join an informal, music afternoon celebrating the feast of St Cecilia, patron of music. If you sing, dance, act or play through praise and worship and would like to contribute to the event, please speak to Biju 0771 6087 407. The event is free, but donations are welcome to support the work of the parish building fund.

Women’s Retreat Day
Saturday 29 November from 09:30-16:00 at Sacred Heart, Waterlooville led by Fr Tom Hiney. More information from: catholicmothersportsmouth@gmail.com.

Mass Books
There will be a retiring collection on 29/30 November for the 400 Mass books (two lots of 200 each) we have purchased for Liturgical Year A. They contain the new translation of the lectionary. If you find the books helpful, please donate. The books cost £5 each, making a total of £2,000 for the year.

Rest in Peace
Please pray for the repose of John McGowan and Alice Czoch. John’s funeral will be on Tue 9 Dec and Alice’s will be on Thu 11 Dec, both at 12:15.

Theology on Tap
Join us for the launch of our new parish group on theological topics. Our first lecture will be on Friday 19 December from 18:30 to 19:30 in the Cathedral Hall. Our speaker will be Fr Thomas Hiney, who will speak on Padre Pio & Spiritual Warfare.
