Download April Meditation (pdf)
Led by the Cathedral Clergy
In these unsettled times across the world, Catholics are invited to rediscover Our Lady of Fatima’s appeal for the practice of the First Saturdays to pray for the conversion of peoples and peace on earth. The First Saturdays are an appeal to return to the Sacrament of Confession, to attend Holy Mass in a state of grace, to pray the Rosary - the spiritual weapon for these times - and to Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and meditation on the Sacred Scriptures.
To fulfil the requests of Jesus and Mary for the First Saturdays, the following 4 practices must be undertaken with the intention of making reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
1. Go to Confession
2. Receive Holy Communion in a state of grace
3. Pray the Rosary
4. Keep Our
Blessed Lady company for a quarter of an hour while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary.
One can go to Confession anytime in the month as long as there is one Confession for each First Saturday.
