Recognisable to many as the tall, slim and athletic-looking server at Mass - ‘Built like a basketball player, aren’t I?’ – Calvin Kadungure is an established member of the Guild of St Stephen, the association of altar servers, as well as a Eucharistic Minister at noon Mass on Sundays.
Born and bred in Zimbabwe, gentle-mannered Calvin moved to the parish with his mother, older brother and younger sister in 2005. The family have lived in Portsmouth ever since.
As a keen sportsman, Calvin particularly enjoys playing cricket and football … not to mention basketball. Calvin fully enjoys living in Portsmouth and is a staunch supporter of Pompey, his favourite football team. But Calvin’s interests don’t stop at sport.
Currently studying Economics, Business Studies, Critical Thinking and Law at Havant College, Calvin – a former student of St Edmund’s Secondary School - is also keen on music: ‘All kinds of music. I’m really catholic in my tastes. I’m particularly keen on keyboard and would love to develop my keyboard skills. But my one, true ambition is to be successful as a manager in business’.
